February 2022 – Kooth News Update Sunderland

What’s Happening this Month?

Our fabulous content team continues to create a fantastic programme of monthly activities and podcasts for young people to get involved with.

This February we’ll be celebrating LGBT+ History Month, talking about resilience (helping young people to understand what this means), talking about health relationships and drawing attention to styles & difficulties (recognising that we’re all different and learn in our own way).

January 2022 – Kooth News Update Sunderland

January 2022

Happy New Year!

As we head back to our professional roles working with children, young people and families whether that be in a classroom, NHS setting or within a local community centre it’s important to recognise that for some young people heading into a new year can be overwhelming.

The last 12 months have had many ups and downs. With young people experiencing lock downs, home school learning, restrictions easing, then the threat of a new variant at the end of 2021. This may leave some young people feeling anxious about the new year ahead and not to mention January alone can be challenging due to the long dark days.

During 2022 we want to remind you that Kooth.com continues to offer young people a free, safe, online space where they can access a range of therapeutic support from our friendly team of counsellors, 365 days a year.

This month’s news update provides you with the latest information about ‘what’s on’ in January including access to a range of digital resources which you can use to promote Kooth within your setting/venue.

What’s Kooth?

www.kooth.com is a free, safe and anonymous online mental health & emotional wellbeing platform available to support children & young people aged 10 to 25 in Sunderland.

What’s happening this month?

At Kooth our team creates a monthly programme of activities such as live forum discussions and podcasts for young people to explore. This January we’ll be talking about a diverse range of topics including goal setting, growth through growing and ‘World Religion Day’ friends with different faiths. Finally, ‘Blue Monday’ can impact any age so we will be hosting a live forum to encourage young people to talk. Please find the monthly timetable attached to this email or here.

Resources

Brandmaster offers you direct access to a range of resources to compliment your social media and online platform communications. Easy to download assets can be found here.

Don’t forget you can replenish your posters and cards by getting in touch to place a free order. Now’s a great time to do this as we’ve refreshed our look and have new designs. Our real posters and cards are great for placing on display within your classroom or community venue.

The cards are small and discreet making it easy to hand these to young people who may need support. Take a look at one of our new posters here.

Parent Carer Guide

If you didn’t see it last month then take a look at our new parent carer guide which offers top tips and information helping parents support their child. The guide also offers a range of answers to the top questions parents might have about Kooth. You can download and share this guide with anyone you know here.
