Connect to your GP services online and save time. Quick, easy and secure.

Application for Online Access

Practices are increasingly enabling patients to be able to request repeat prescriptions and book appointments online.

Some patients may wish to access more information online and contractually from the 1st April 2015 practices are obliged to assist access to medication, allergies and adverse reaction as a minimum from the 1st April 2016 coded data.

However, this requires additional consideration as outlined on this page, you will be asked that you have read and understood the information before consenting and applying to access your records online. The practice will also need to verify your identity.

Non-urgent advice: Please Note

It will be your responsibility to keep your login details and password safe and secure. If you know or suspect that your records have been accessed by someone that you have not agreed should see it, then you should change your password immediately.

IF you can’t do this for some reason, we recommend that you contact the practice so that they can remove online access until you are able to reset your password.

If you print out any information from your record, it is also your responsibility to keep this secure, if you are at all worried about keeping printed copies safe, we recommend that you do not make copies at all.

The practice may not be able to offer online due to the number of reasons such as concerns that it could cause harm to physical or mental health or where there is reference to reference to third parties. the practice has the right to remove online access to service for anyone that doesn’t use them responsibly.

Patient Access

Online services allow you to:

  • book, check or cancel appointments with a GP, nurse or other healthcare professional 
  • order repeat prescriptions
  • see parts of your health record, including information about medicines, vaccinations and test results
  • see communications between your GP Medical Centre and other services, such as hospitals

How to register for Online Services

If you have not used our online services before you will need to:

  • Come to the Surgery and provide photo ID so we can confirm your identity and the receptionist will then issue you with a username and password.
  • Enter Patient Access and enter your registration details exactly as shown on the form.
  • After registering, log on with your username and password.

NHS App

You can use the NHS App to check your symptoms and get instant advice, book appointments, order repeat prescriptions, view your GP medical record and more.

What the NHS App does

  • get advice about coronavirus – get information about coronavirus and find out what to do if you think you have it.
  • order repeat prescriptions – see your available medicines, request a new repeat prescription and choose a pharmacy for your prescriptions to be sent to.
  • book appointments – search for, book and cancel appointments at your GP surgery, and see details of your upcoming and past appointments.
  • check your symptoms – search trusted NHS information and advice on hundreds of conditions and treatments, and get instant advice or medical help near you.
  • register your organ donation decision – choose to donate some or all of your organs and check your registered decision.
  • find out how the NHS uses your data – choose if data from your health records is shared for research and planning.
  • view parts of your GP record – including information about medication, allergies, vaccinations, previous illnesses and test results.
